Baked Beans
½ pound hot ground pork sausage
1 large Vidalia onion, chopped
2 (16-ounce) cans pork and beans, undrained
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained
½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
2/3 cup BBQ (SPICY OR ORIGINAL)
¼ cup coarse-grained mustard
¼ cup molasses
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1 to 2 teaspoons prepared chili powder
4 bacon slices
Cook sausage and onion in a skillet, stirring until sausage crumbles and is no
longer pink. Drain. Combine sausage mixture, pork and beans, and next 7 ingredients
in a shallow lightly greased 2 1/2 - quart casserole; stir well. Place bacon slices
on top of beans.
Bake, uncovered, at 350 F for: 1 ½ to 2 hours or until desired thickness.
